Issues in Minor Murder Cases

November 21st, 2008 · No Comments

In 1991, a 17 year old boy was charged and convicted for the murder of nine Buddhist worshipers in a temple in Arizona. He was questioned for 12 hours without representation, and gave a confession.

Recently, an 8 year old boy  was charged with shooting and killing both his father and his friend. This boy was also interrogated without representation.

Both of these cases have encountered some difficulties because the confessions are considered involuntary and therefore inadmissable in court.

If you or someone you know has been charged with a felony, the authorities may not have followed proper procedure. Contact the Rhode Island criminal defense attorney, James Powderly at 401.662.9006.
