Man Acquitted of Arson, Murder Charges

A man accused of setting fire to an apartment as revenge against a rival gang member and instead causing the death of a disabled man has been acquitted by a jury.

Eric King, 35, had been charged with arson and murder in connection with a fire at a Dorchester apartment in August 2001 which resulted in the death of Shelby Caddell.

Three of King’s co-defendant have pleaded guilty to a variety of charges in connection with the incident.
